Girls’ volleyball
Chapel Hill got revenge against cross-town rival East Chapel Hill 3-1. Each set was decided by two points, except the third, in which the Tigers won 25-13. Chapel Hill extended its win streak to four while snapping the Wildcats’ 10-game win streak.
Cedar Ridge continued its dominant last few weeks with sweeps over Durham Academy and Carrboro. The Red Wolves have given up one set in their last games.
Carrboro bounced back with a sweep against Falls Lake Academy.
Seaforth followed a sweep of J.F. Webb with a 3-0 win over Pinecrest. The final two sets were decided by no more than five points. The Hawks ended the week with a sweep of South Granville.
Riverside halted its two-game skid with a sweep over Northern Durham.
Woods Charter has won 14 games in a row after beating Clover Garden School 3-1 and sweeping River Mill Academy and Southern Wake Academy. The Wolves have lost three sets since Aug. 14.
NCSSM-Durham closed out its regular season with a 3-1 win over Voyager Academy and a sweep over Triangle Math and Science.

Boys’ soccer
Southern Durham and Northern Durham’s cross-town battle ended in a 2-2 draw. It marked the Spartans’ sixth tie of the year.
Chapel Hill edged East Chapel Hill 2-1. The Tigers trailed 1-0 at the half, but they owned the last 40 minutes with goals from senior Liam Davis and senior Eli Rawls.
Northwood defeated Jordan-Matthews 2-1 in overtime to win its fourth straight game. Cruz Arias scored the go-ahead penalty kick with just over 30 seconds left in the first overtime period.
Carrboro dominated Webb 7-1, and it defeated Durham School of the Arts 2-0. The Jaguars have won five in a row.
NCSSM-Durham had a solid defensive week, defeating Franklin Academy 2-1, Voyager Academy 3-1 and Neuse Charter 8-0. The Unicorns have held 10 straight opponents to no more than one goal.
Research Triangle defeated Voyager Academy 4-1 for its third straight win.
Orange notched the winning goal in the first overtime period of a 1-0 battle against Seaforth.

Girls’ flag football
Northwood pulled out a 22-21 overtime thriller against Seaforth. With 12 seconds remaining in the fourth, the Chargers tied the game with a touchdown pass from freshman Alaina Toomer to freshman Camryn Lux in the back of the end zone. Northwood’s defense came up with a stop in the first overtime possession, and on the ensuing drive, junior Noelle Whitaker hauled in a short pass from Toomer for the game-winning score. The Chargers have won six straight games.
Seaforth began its season with a 19-6 win over Jordan-Matthews and a 44-0 blowout over Central Carolina Academy.
Southern Durham dominated Hillside 65-0. The Spartans have shut out three straight opponents.
Riverside defeated Northern Durham 38-0 to remain undefeated (5-0).

Chatham Charter senior Maggie Moody took home the Central Tar Heel 1A Conference singles tournament title by beating her teammate Kaylee Moffitt in the final.
East Chapel Hill beat Riverside 6-0 and Chapel Hill 5-1. The Pirates clinched the Tobacco Road 6A/7A Conference title with the win over the Tigers.
Carrboro claimed the Big Seven 4A/5A Conference title by beating second-place Seaforth 6-3. The Jaguars won all three doubles matches and three singles.
Research Triangle completed its undefeated regular season (15-0) and a Diamond Nine 1A/2A/3A Conference title run with a 9-0 victory over Raleigh Charter.
