Girls’ volleyball

Seaforth extended its win streak to four with sweeps over Chapel Hill and J.F. Webb. So far, the Hawks have conceded one set in all of its wins this season.

With a sweep of River Mill, Woods Charter ended the week on a six-game win streak, including five sweeps. The Wolves have also conceded only one set in all of its wins.

East Chapel Hill won the final three sets to beat Orange 3-1 Wednesday.

After dominating Southern Durham 3-0 Monday, Cedar Ridge picked up its first conference win with a sweep of J.F. Webb. The Red Wolves followed that with a 3-1 win over Carrboro in which they dominated the fourth set 25-15.

Research Triangle’s nine-game win streak was snapped by Vance Charter in a 3-2 defeat.

Northern Durham bounced back from consecutive losses with a 3-0 win over Oxford Prep Monday. The Knights won the first set by a score of 25-5 but edged the Griffins 26-24 and 25-23 in the next two frames.

Chatham Central won a tightly contested 28-26 third set to sweep Jordan-Matthews for the second time this season Monday.

Chatham Charter achieved five wins in a row after sweeping Southern Wake Academy and Eastern Randolph and edging Ascend Leadership 3-2 this past week. The Knights have made their best 12-game start since 2022.

Durham Academy beat Jordan 3-0 Thursday.

Boys’ soccer

Jordan and Chapel Hill drew 1-1 in an anticipated non-conference match Friday. After a goal by Jordan sophomore Julius Ambersfield in the first half, Chapel Hill notched a score in the second half to avoid its third straight loss.

Jordan-Matthews and Seaforth also drew 1-1 Tuesday. Seaforth junior Olivier Pruiliere tied the game in the second half on an assist from junior Bodhi Dolleschel.

Northwood picked up two clean sheets in wins over Southern Alamance (3-0) and Southern Lee (1-0) this past week. Sophomore Johnny Santiago scored the Chargers’ only goal against the Cavaliers. Northwood fell to Graham 2-1 Wednesday.

Woods Charter tied with Research Triangle 1-1 Monday. The Raptors bounced back with a 4-0 win over Neuse Charter.

After a 6-1 loss to Broughton, East Chapel Hill responded with a 9-0 rout over Southern Alamance. The Wildcats scored seven goals in the last 18 minutes of the first half.

Cedar Ridge shook off a 4-2 loss to Falls Lake and defeated Eastern Alamance 3-1 for its first win of the season.

Northern Durham beat Excelsior Classical Academy 4-3 Monday. The Knights held a 3-0 lead at halftime and held off the Flying Lions’ second half comeback attempt.

Durham School of the Arts dominated Eno River 8-1 and followed that with a 1-0 win over NCSSM-Durham this past week. It was the first time the Bulldogs won consecutive games this season.

Girls’ Tennis

Seaforth is on a three-game win streak after two wins over South Granville (9-0 and 6-0) and a 7-2 victory over Orange, which snapped the Panthers’ five-game win streak.

Chatham Charter has won five of its last six games after defeating River Mill 8-1 and Cornerstone Charter 9-0 this past week.

Cedar Ridge is inching closer to .500 after three straight wins over Durham School of the Arts (6-3), Triangle Math and Science (7-2) and South Granville (8-1).

Durham Academy took down Chapel Hill 7-2. The Cavaliers won five singles and two doubles.

Riverside defeated Northern Durham 7-2 Monday, winning every singles match. The Pirates then fell to Page 7-2 later in the week, ending their win streak at four games.

Girls’ golf

East Chapel Hill finished first in the Big Seven conference match at Hope Valley Country Club with a score 139 (31 over par). In the same match, Chapel Hill came in second (152), Orange finished third (156), Seaforth finished fourth (161), Carrboro finished fifth (166), Cedar Ridge finished sixth (180) and Durham School of the Arts’ two golfers finished 50 over par.

Chatham Central defeated Eastern Randolph 172-188 at Siler City Country Club.

Eno River Academy earned the best score (153) in a match against Falls Lake, Henderson Collegiate, Oxford Prep and Vance Charter at Mill Creek Golf Club.

NCSSM-Durham (136) finished first and Research Triangle (161) came in fourth at the Diamond Nine match no. 2 at Falls Village Golf Club.
